SunPower Builders Spring Newsletter 2010 and New Referral Program!

WHAT'S ON SUNPOWER'S HORIZON

After record snowfalls in PA, we are thrilledto be back on the roof! SunPower continues to lead the SouthEastern PA solar market with its experienced designers, installers, project developers and policy experts. SunPower’s spring schedule is packed with solar electric and solar hot water installations for local homes and businesses, including a 66kW PV system at Victory Brewing Company! We continue to grow and are again expanding our facilities in Collegeville, this time to include warehousing space.

We have also launched an exciting REFERRAL PROGRAM! We have always received the majority of our business through word of mouth…and we would like to reward you for it!

Existing customers, potential customers or solar enthusiasts in general can send interested parties our way and earn referral fees to show SunPower’s appreciation for their efforts. Please visit http://sunpowerbuilders.com/solar-referral.html to learn more.

POLICY UPDATE

SunPower always has its finger on the pulse of solar policy in PA as a result of its membership and active participation in groups such as the Mid - Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association, the Governor’s Solar Working Group, the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) and other stakeholder groups. Kira Costanza is frequently in Harrisburg to lobby and ensure that SunPower is always well informed and able to connect our customers to the best solar resources possible! (no pun intended…) This spring SunPower’s policy work will focus on the development of PASEIA, a new version of House Bill 80, which increases requirements for PA utilities to distribute solar energy, and the continued success of the PA Sunshine Rebate Program. Please visit this SunPower Blog for regular updates on the status of state programs and ways you can help support solar in PA.

SUNPOWER PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

KAUFFMAN - GAMBER PHYSICAL THERAPY

In 2004, SunPower installed a 4.8kW solar PV system and a 6 collector solar thermal system for the progressively minded environmentalists at Kauffman- Gamber Physical Therapy in Lancaster, PA. The project was funded with a grant from PA’s first solar grant program, the Sustainable Development Fund, and a grant from the Sustainable Energy Fund. At that time, Kauffman-Gamber and SunPower were true solar pioneers in PA, and it is almost surreal, and wonderful, to see what has happened since!

Continuing their commitment to solar, Kauffman-Gamber has recently increased their PV system to 9.6kW with a PA Sunshine Grant. SunPower offers a special thanks Ben and Tim
Kauffman for their tireless enthusiasm for solar and the great partnership we have established over the years.
